SolidWorks Tree Errors
- All SolidWorks trees shall be clean of the following errors when in workflow.
- Circular references.
- Broken references.
- External broken references.
- Mate errors.
- Dangling dimensions.
- Over defined sketches
General
- Only the “Linked Items” of drawings, parts and assemblies shall be submitted into workflow.
- Parent Drawings/Assemblies need to be last in workflow. If a child part or drawing changes, assemblies need to be rebuilt to ensure integrity prior to being submitted into workflow and being PDM approved.
- No phantom records containing C00,C07,C34,C47 ETC... shall be created without permission from both manager and Level 3 PDM administrator. Reference 13-RDE-1018 for explanations of Level Power Users and Roles and Responsibilities.
USER SUMMARY
- Use link mode as system is intended (Reference Link Mode tutorial).
- Use proper CHI part numbering schema and use REF on configuration names for a “No-DBWorks Record”.
- Input all of the Meta-Data thoroughly and correctly.
- Ensure all the proper latest drawing templates are being used .
- Ensure all of the drawings assemblies and parts can generate an Excel BOM correctly.
- Do not create “garbage records”!
- Ensure all SolidWorks Parts, assemblies and Drawing trees are clean of all errors.
- Drawing BOM must match exactly that of the DBWorks Excel generated BOM
